Rice Pudding (Sütlaç)

 Rice Pudding - Sütlaç

This is one of traditional Turkish desserts and it is cooked in each house, it is served to the guests. 


It's so amazing dessert , both very delicious and so light. 




It's like a soft icecream with rice.
  





Rice Pudding

Ingredients:
1 litre milk 
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup rice
2 cups water
2 tablespoons starch (heapful)
1/2 cup water
1 pack vanilla
walnut, pistachi, cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:
1- Cook rice with 2 cups water in a pot until softening
2- Boil milk in another pot
3- Add softened rice into the boiling milk and stir time to time
    Let it to boil about 4-5 minutes
4- In a bowl, dilute the starch with 1/2 cup water and stir it until smoothing
5- Add 1-2 ladles of boiling milk into the starch mixture for making warm (preventing agglomeration)
6- Add the starch mixture and 1 cup granulated sugar and vanilla in the boiling milk, stirring constantly
7- Cook it for 10 minutes until thickening like pudding
8- Pour rice pudding into the small bowls
9- Chill in the fridge
10- Sprinkle pistachi before serving.
